With the official launch of the 'Han River Bus' approaching in September, citizen trial operations will take place starting on the 1st of next month.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 23rd that it will recruit 'early birds' for the Han River Bus boarding experience starting from the 24th. Anyone can apply, even if they are not a resident of Seoul, and the trial fee is free. Applications can be made through the boarding experience application website.
The Han River Bus is an eco-friendly water public transportation system that Seoul is introducing for the first time in the Han River area. It will connect seven docks: Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksoo, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil, covering a distance of approximately 31.5 km. An express service will also operate between Magok, Yeouido, and Jamsil.
Trial operations will take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. During the trial operation period, the service will run one-way without intermediate stops from the Yeouido dock to the Jamsil dock. On Tuesdays and Thursdays in July, there will be one departure at 2 p.m. and one at 7 p.m., while on Saturdays, it will depart at 2 p.m.
A Seoul city official noted, 'In the event that operations cannot take place due to heavy rain or flooding, a cancellation message will be sent out four hours in advance.'
