This year, the competition ratio for the national civil service grade 5 and 7 recruitment examination for private sector experienced individuals was recorded at 21 to 1, showing a slight increase compared to last year.
The Ministry of Personnel Management noted on the 23rd that as a result of accepting applications for the '2025 National Civil Service Recruitment Examination for Private Sector Experienced Individuals,' a total of 3,304 people applied for 157 positions.
The competition ratios for hiring civil servants with private sector experience are as follows: ▲2022, 14 to 1; ▲2023, 16.9 to 1; ▲last year, 20.1 to 1; ▲this year, 21 to 1, showing a consistent upward trend.
By rank, the competition ratio for grade 5 was 25.3 to 1, with 1,010 applicants for 40 positions. For grade 7, it was 19.6 to 1, with 2,294 applicants for 117 positions. In grade 7, the position of administrative assistant in the general administration field at the Ministry of Personnel Management received 197 applicants for 1 position, resulting in a competition ratio of 197 to 1. In grade 5, for the position of computer officer in the Ministry of National Defense's defense artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet-based information and communication resources integration (cloud service) development area, there were 91 applicants for 1 position, yielding a competition ratio of 91 to 1.
The average age of applicants was 37 years, similar to last year's 37.3 years, with those in their 30s being the most numerous at 1,777 (53.8%). This was followed by those in their 40s at 982 (29.7%), those in their 20s at 406 (12.3%), and those aged 50 and above at 139 (4.2%). Female applicants represented 51.8% of the total at 1,713, showing a slight increase from last year’s 51.2%.
The written examination will be held on July 19, with the location to be announced on July 11 at the Cyber National Examination Center.
