A man in his 60s, who killed his wife a week after the court's restraining order expired, appeared in court for a detention review and said, "I think I did well."
The man, identified as Mr. A, who is facing murder charges, attended the Incheon District Court where a pre-arrest interrogatory hearing was held and told reporters, "If you visit me once, I will explain everything (about why I killed my wife)."
He stated the reason he went to see his wife immediately after the restraining order ended was, "It's my house, so I should go in. Where else would I live?" In response to the question, "Are you not sorry for your remaining family?" he said, "I have no reason to be sorry, since the only remaining family is my son."
On the afternoon of the 19th, around 4:30 p.m., Mr. A is accused of fatally stabbing his wife, Ms. B, in her 60s, several times with a weapon in front of an officetel in Bupyeong District, Incheon.
Previously, Mr. A had received a provisional order from the court in December of last year prohibiting him from approaching within 100 meters of Ms. B and limiting contact, and committed the act a week after the order expired on the 12th of this month.
Mr. A also visited the officetel on the 16th but could not meet Ms. B, and it is reported that he sought out his wife again on the 18th, the day before the crime. Ms. B apparently attempted to visit the police station on the day of the incident to inquire about receiving a smartwatch and installing closed-circuit television (CCTV), but she was killed before the measures could be applied.
