An event was held to introduce Seoul's excellent medical tourism infrastructure in Vietnam and attract tourists.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on the 20th that they held the '2025 Ho Chi Minh Health Consultation and Medical Tourism Briefing' in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the 11th and 12th.

This event was organized to directly confirm the increasing demand for medical tourism in Southeast Asia and to promote the attractiveness of Seoul as a 'medical tourism hub.'

The detailed events included a health consultation meeting (B2C), a corporations' trade consultation meeting (B2B), and a medical tourism briefing for Seoul. During the health consultation meeting, medical staff from seven hospitals in Seoul, including Asan Medical Center, Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, and Ewha Womans University Medical Center, met directly with local patients for consultations.

The corporations' trade consultation meeting featured 13 medical tourism corporations from Seoul and 39 medical tourism agencies operating locally in Vietnam, offering a time to plan medical tourism products. As a result, a total of 190 consultations were conducted.

The medical tourism briefing for Seoul held on the 12th was attended by 150 guests, including officials from the Ho Chi Minh City government, tourism associations, local influential buyers, and representatives from domestic companies operating in the region.

The briefing featured the theme 'SPICY (Smart, Professional, Innovation, Convenience, Youthful) Seoul,' introducing Seoul's medical tourism appeal by dividing it into five different aspects.

On that day, to assist in planning products locally, the participating Seoul medical institutions explained their specialized treatment areas and advantages in an easily understandable manner for locals.

The city and foundation plan to continuously hold local consultation meetings as medical tourism is a high-value-added industry leading the growth of Seoul's tourism market. In September, they will also host the 'Seoul Medical Tourism International Travel Mart,' inviting buyers from Southeast Asia and the Middle East to Seoul.

Gu Jong-won, head of the city's tourism and sports bureau, said, 'We will proactively target emerging medical tourism markets, not just Vietnam, to establish Seoul as a global medical tourism hub city.'
