A man in his 60s, who had received a restraining order from the court for domestic violence, was arrested by the police on suspicion of murdering his wife just a week after the order was lifted.
Incheon Samsan Police Station stated on the 20th that they had arrested a man surnamed A as a suspect in the murder.
A is accused of stabbing his wife, Ms. B, several times with a weapon at the entrance of her home in Bupyeong District, Incheon, around 4:30 p.m. the previous day. Ms. B was transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency team that responded to a report but ultimately died.
A had received a temporary order from the court prohibiting him from approaching or contacting his wife within 100 meters following a domestic violence incident that occurred in December of last year, and this order was reportedly effective until the 12th of this month. The crime occurred just 7 days after the order was lifted.
A police official noted, "We plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service on Ms. B's body to investigate the specific cause of death," adding, "We also plan to apply for a warrant for A's arrest."
