A North Korean flag appeared on screen during a live broadcast of early morning worship from a large Protestant church in Seoul via YouTube. The church stated that it is considering this incident as a result of external hacking.
Onnuri Church announced on the 19th that during the streaming of Pastor Park Jong-gil's sermon at the Seobinggo campus in Yongsan District, Seoul, an image of the North Korean flag was displayed for about 20 seconds. It was also reported that the sermon audio suddenly cut off, and unidentified music began playing.
The church stated, "We reported the incident to the relevant authorities through the responsible department," adding, "There were no external threats or monetary demands."
Onnuri Church also issued an apology on its official website. The church explained, "An unexpected video was broadcast during the live streaming of the early morning service on June 18, and a hacking incident occurred," stating, "We are currently conducting an urgent investigation into the cause of the incident and will take measures after investigating the situation as soon as possible."
It added, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to the congregation."
