Heavy rain has been falling in Incheon, where a heavy rain and strong wind advisory has been issued, causing flooding of roads and dwellings and erosion of soil.
According to the city of Incheon on the 20th, 103 reports of damage from heavy rain and strong winds were received from the city and various districts from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. on that day.
Most reports indicated that roads or dwellings were flooded, and there were also reports of fallen NAMUGA and soil erosion.
At around 5:30 a.m. on that day, floodwaters submerged multi-family dwellings in Geomam-dong and Gyeongseo-dong in Seo-gu, and some factories in Oryu-dong, Seo-gu, were also inundated.
In addition, soil erosion occurred in the Wangjil-dong area of Seo-gu, and NAMUGA fell in areas such as Gal-san-dong in Bupyeong-gu, Ganseok-dong in Namdong-gu, and Dae-gok-dong in Seo-gu, prompting safety measures by firefighters and local authorities.
Around 4 p.m., electricity was cut off to 1,145 units of apartments and dwellings in the Yeonhui-dong area of Seo-gu.
At 5:02 p.m. on that day, a container being transported by a large truck fell on the road at a point 9.7 km towards Songdo on Incheon Bridge, injuring two passengers of the vehicle behind and causing severe traffic congestion in the area.
A representative from the Korea Meteorological Administration said, "Rain is expected to stop in Incheon tonight," adding that the strong wind warning issued for inland Incheon is expected to be lifted tonight or early tomorrow.
