The Seoul city government will additionally create 40 public wedding venues that prospective newlyweds can utilize. By 2030, the plan is to operate a total of 65 public wedding venues, including 25 indoor and 40 outdoor locations, to alleviate the wedding expense burden on prospective newlyweds.
On the 19th, the Seoul city government announced the 'More Beautiful Wedding Expansion Support Plan' containing these details.
First, the number of indoor public wedding venues will be increased to 25. Currently, there are 5, and an additional 20 will be created through remodeling, contributed acceptance, and utilizing performance spaces.
The Seoul Women's Plaza international event center near Daebang Station on Line 1 will be remodeled and created as 'Pium Seoul.' It is expected to open in July. Additionally, in 2027, the Namsan Creative Industry Hub opera hall will be transformed into a complex wedding hall, and in 2028, the Banpo Jugong 1 complex's contributed acceptance facility will be used to create another complex wedding hall.

Cafés and restaurants will also be utilized as wedding halls. 'The Hills Namsan' will be transformed into a dedicated wedding hall capable of hosting indoor and outdoor weddings starting in September through remodeling. The cafeteria 'Maru' on the 20th floor of the City Square in Seosomun-dong will also be available as a wedding hall on weekends starting in September.
Four cultural performance venues where weddings can be held in the style of musicals or concerts, along with six locations discovered through collaboration between autonomous districts and public institutions, including the recently constructed Gwangjin District Office, will also be operated.
An additional 20 outdoor wedding venues will be created, bringing the total to 40. Four venues where traditional Korean houses can be viewed will begin operations in phases starting in September.
Wedding venues utilizing gardens and parks, such as the rooftop of the Hanseong Baekje Museum Sky Garden, the grass yard at Seodaemun Ansan, and the green square lawn in Geumcheon District, will also be increased. The Four Seasons Garden at Children’s Grand Park and the grass yard at Seoul Botanical Garden are scheduled to operate next year after renovations.
Weddings can take place from this month on the rooftop of the Seoul Water Sports Center. Starting in September, rooftops at the Han River Bus docks (Mangwon, Yeouido, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, Jamsil) will also be offered as wedding venues.
In addition, the Seoul city government plans to support 1 million won for health check-ups during marriage registration, as well as coupons worth 1 million won for child-rearing supplies.
To support these prospective couples' wedding ceremonies, the Seoul city government will invest a budget of 1.25 billion won this year. The budget for next year is 2.5 billion won.
