A special investigation team has been formed to investigate the allegations surrounding Kim Keon-hee, the spouse of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. The four appointed special prosecutors will assist Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki in the investigation.

Special Prosecutor Min noted through a media announcement on the 18th, "I received the appointment notice for four special prosecutors just now on the 17th from the presidential office."

The special prosecutors nominated include attorney Moon Hong-joo, a former Chief Judge (31st Judicial Research and Training Institute), and former prosecutors Kim Hyung-geun (29th) and Park Sang-jin (29th) and Oh Jeong-hee (30th). The special prosecutors are tasked with conducting investigations, maintaining prosecutions, and supervising special investigators and dispatched officials, receiving treatment equivalent to that of a chief prosecutor.

Special Prosecutor Min had previously recommended eight candidates to the presidential office on the 15th, and President Lee Jae-myung selected four of them to appoint as special prosecutors. According to the Special Prosecution Act, the president must appoint special prosecutors within five days of receiving the appointment request.

Special Prosecutor Moon graduated from Gwangju Inseong High School and Seoul National University, majoring in International Economics. After passing the bar exam, he worked as an attorney before being appointed as a judge at Changwon District Court in 2008. He spent 15 years in the judiciary, serving at Suwon District Court, Seoul Central District Court, Daejeon District Court, and Suwon Family Court.

Special Prosecutor Kim graduated from Seondeok High School and Korea University, and was appointed as a prosecutor in 2002. He held various key positions, including chief of the special investigation department at Busan District Prosecutors' Office and Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, head of the first anti-corruption investigation team at Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and deputy chief prosecutor at Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office.

Special Prosecutor Park graduated from Gyeonggi High School and Seoul National University, and served as the chief of the special investigation department at Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, chief of the violent crimes department at Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, researcher at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and deputy chief prosecutor at Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office, accumulating approximately 20 years of experience in the prosecution.

Special Prosecutor Oh graduated from Suncheon Women's High School and Korea University, and held positions as chief of the Women and Children Division at Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, chief of the Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division at Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office, head of the 13th Criminal Division at Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and chief of the Tongyeong District Office at Changwon District Prosecutors' Office.

Special Prosecutor Min previously stated that he considered the investigative capabilities and communication and collaboration skills necessary to complete the investigation in a short time when recommending the special prosecutors. The special investigation team will look into allegations of stock price manipulation involving Deutsch Motors, suspicions regarding the receipt of luxury bags, and national interference allegations related to Myung Tae-kyun and Geon-jin Beopsa.
