Rain is expected to fall in most areas nationwide until the afternoon of the 16th. In particular, strong rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning is expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, so caution is advised.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 12 p.m. that day, approximately 10 mm of rain per hour is falling in the northern part of Chungcheongnam-do and the west coast, while approximately 5 mm of rain per hour is being observed in Chungcheongbuk-do and the southern regions. Rainfall of 10 mm per hour can soak clothes even when using an umbrella.

Later in the afternoon, rain will continue in most areas nationwide. In particular, rain falling in the Seoul metropolitan area is expected to be particularly heavy. The expected rainfall is 5 to 30 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, and 5 to 30 mm in northern Chungcheongnam-do and the west coast. This rain is expected to stop around 6 p.m. However, some areas in the inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon-do may continue to see rain until the evening.

The Korea Meteorological Administration noted, "Once the rain stops, humidity will be high and temperatures will rise rapidly again, causing inland daytime temperatures to exceed 30 degrees for a while," adding that "due to the high humidity, the evaporation of sweat will be delayed, leading to perceived temperatures exceeding 31 degrees in some areas."

Tomorrow, the 17th, hot weather will continue, with showers expected in various inland areas including Gangwon-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, Jeollabuk-do, eastern Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongsangnam-do. The minimum temperature in the morning will be 18 to 22 degrees, while the maximum temperature during the day will reach 26 to 31 degrees, which is 2 to 3 degrees higher than normal.
