The Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office chief, Shim Woo-jung, reportedly had two phone calls with then-Chief of the Presidential Office's Civil Affairs Kim Joo-hyun last October during his early term. As the investigation into the alleged electoral intervention by former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife was intensifying at that time, suspicions arose that relevant discussions took place. In response, the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office stated, "It was not a currency related to the case."

On the 16th, the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office spokesperson stated in an official position sent to reporters, "I remember receiving a phone call from the Chief of Civil Affairs regarding personnel matters early in the prosecutor general's term, during which we discussed prosecutor policies and administration." They further noted, "Some media raised concerns about a connection to the Deutsche stock manipulation case and electoral intervention allegations, but that is not true at all."

On that day, Hankyoreh reported that Chief Shim called the former chief around 8:50 a.m. on October 10 last year, engaging in a currency for 12 minutes and 32 seconds, and the next day around 2:02 p.m., the former chief called Chief Shim, engaging in a currency for 11 minutes and 36 seconds.

Chief Shim began his term on September 16 last year. The timing of the two people's currency coincided with when the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office began a full-scale investigation into the electoral intervention involving Myung Tae-kyun. The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office conducted a search and seizure of Myung's residence and other locations on September 30 last year. Moreover, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office concluded on October 17 last year that there was no evidence against Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, regarding her involvement in the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations.

The Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office stated, "Since the Deutsche stock manipulation case was one over which the prosecutor general's authority was excluded, there were no discussions related to it." They also asserted, "While the electoral intervention allegations were being reported by media at the time, it is not true that there were any discussions regarding it." They added, "The prosecutor general strengthened the investigation team for the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office by adding two regular prosecutors as of October 17 last year and four more, including a Vice Administrator and Director General, on November 5 of the same year."
