Shin & Kim LLC (Managing Partner Oh Jong-han) announced on the 16th that it has recruited former Daegu High Prosecutor's Office Chief Prosecutor Jang Young-soo (24th Judicial Research and Training Institute) and former Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Deputy Chief Prosecutor Park Jin-won (30th).
Former High Prosecutor Jang Young-soo, originally from Chilgok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, graduated from Daewon High School and Korea University School of Law. He passed the 34th National Judicial Examination in 1992. He began his career as a prosecutor at the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office in 1998 and served as head of the Criminal Division 3 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, then the head of the Inspection Division 1 at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office. He was promoted to the Chief of the Western District Prosecutors' Office in Daegu in 2016. After serving as the Deputy Chief at the Southern District Prosecutors' Office in Seoul, he was promoted to the Chief Prosecutor at various offices, including the Gwangju High Prosecutors' Office, Suwon High Prosecutors' Office, Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office, Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office, and Daegu High Prosecutors' Office.
Former High Prosecutor Jang participated in a statement against Prosecutor General Yoon Suk-yeol's disciplinary action in the midst of conflicts when former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae (14th) was disciplining him during the Moon Jae-in administration. Jang submitted his resignation in 2021, during the latter half of the Moon Jae-in administration. After leaving the prosecution, he established Ilwoo Law Firm and has worked as a managing partner.
Former Deputy Chief Prosecutor Park Jin-won is from Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. He graduated from Seoul Daewon High School and Seoul National University Department of Law before passing the 40th National Judicial Examination. He began his public service as a prosecutor in the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, then became a research officer at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office, served as a senior prosecutor in the Eastern District Prosecutors' Office in Seoul, and worked at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office handling investigative information, as well as serving as a senior prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. He began practicing law in May 2021 and co-founded Ilwoo Law Firm with former High Prosecutor Jang.
This year alone, Shin & Kim has recruited several attorneys, including Jo Joo-yeon (33rd), a senior prosecutor from the Anti-Corruption Investigations Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office; Lee Jung-woo (33rd), who previously served as the legal affairs head at SK Gas and SK discovery; Son Jung-hyun (34th), who has received 'Blue Belt' certification as a certified specialist in food safety; Hong Seok-gi, a veteran in special, financial, and tax investigations; and Seok Dong-hyun (43rd), who also holds 'Blue Belt' certification in environmental matters.
Managing Partner Oh Jong-han said, "I expect that we will be able to provide more advanced and tailored legal solutions for increasingly complex and diverse criminal cases."
Meanwhile, the Shin & Kim Criminal Group is led by Managing Partner Moon Moo-il (18th), who served as the 42nd Prosecutor General. The Criminal Group comprises around 50 attorneys from prosecution and police backgrounds.
