On the 15th, the first heat advisory of this summer was issued for the inland area of Gyeonggi Province. However, rain is expected to fall in the central region from the late afternoon, so the period of the heat advisory will not be long.

The Korea Meteorological Administration issued a heat advisory at 9 a.m. for Pocheon, Gapyeong, Paju, Anseong, Yeoju, and Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi Province. The maximum perceived temperature in this area is expected to reach around 33 degrees during the day. In addition to inland Gyeonggi, the maximum perceived temperature is expected to rise above 31 degrees in the central inland regions across the country, leading to hot weather.

The first heat advisory of this summer is issued five days later than last year, which experienced the 'worst heat.' Last year, the first heat advisory was issued on June 10 in parts of the Gyeongsang region.

A heat advisory is issued when it is expected that the daily maximum perceived temperature will exceed 33 degrees for more than two days. The perceived temperature is calculated by factoring in the humidity. When the humidity is at 55%, it aligns with the temperature, and for every 10% increase in humidity, the perceived temperature rises by 1 degree, while a 10% decrease lowers it by 1 degree.

Rain began falling in Jeju Island in the morning and is expected to expand to the Jeolla region during the day, and to the central region in the late afternoon. Due to the influence of rain, the heat advisory is forecasted not to last long.

The Korea Meteorological Administration noted that "even after the rain, daytime temperatures in the central inland regions will rise around 30 degrees for the time being, making it hot."
