As heavy rain is expected due to a heavy rain warning issued for Jeju, Jeolla Province, and Gyeongsang Province, the Ministry of Interior and Safety activated the first stage of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCHQ) at 11:30 p.m. on the 13th.

According to the CDSCHQ, a stationary front in the South Sea is gradually moving northward, and heavy rainfall is expected in Jeju and the Yeongnam region. The anticipated rainfall amounts are 50-120 mm in Jeju, 30-80 mm in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and 30-80 mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam.

Ko Gi-dong, the acting Minister, said, "Heavy rain is occurring in areas more widespread than forecasted. Related agencies should monitor the weather situation in real time and take necessary actions immediately, such as controlling risk areas and evacuating residents."

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, this rain will continue nationwide until the afternoon of the day and will gradually cease starting from the western regions during the day. In the Chungcheong and Gyeongbuk regions, there will be strong rain of 10-30 mm per hour until the morning of the day.
