On the 14th, small earthquakes occurred in succession in Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, at around 12:22 p.m. and 1:58 p.m., earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.0 and 2.3 occurred at points 21 kilometers and 22 kilometers north of Yeongdeok County, respectively.

The depths of the epicenters were estimated to be 12 kilometers and 11 kilometers, respectively. In particular, the instrumental intensity of the second earthquake was 3 in Yeongdeok County and 2 in Yeongyang County and Cheongsong County.

Instrumental intensity refers to the measured value observed by accelerographic seismic observation equipment installed by region, calculated considering the local soil characteristics.

Instrumental intensity 3 corresponds to vibrations that are 'distinctly felt by persons indoors, especially on upper floors of buildings, and cause parked vehicles to sway slightly.'

The Korea Meteorological Administration noted, 'We hope you remain vigilant about safety.'
