A suspect who murdered a woman in her 50s, who was under police protection in an apartment in Daegu, was arrested four days later.

On the 14th, the Daegu Police Agency discovered and arrested the suspect, a man in his 40s identified as A, around 10:45 p.m. on a street in Jochiwon-eup, Sejong City. The police apprehended A in front of a friend's warehouse. It is reported that there was no significant resistance.

A is accused of stabbing and killing a woman in her 50s, identified as B, who was seeking help for stalking, around 3:30 a.m. on the 10th at an apartment in the Dalsu District of Daegu. It has been determined that he climbed up to the 6th floor using the gas piping on the exterior wall of the apartment to commit the act and escaped through the front door.

Earlier, in April, A was apprehended for threatening B with a weapon, but the court rejected the arrest warrant, allowing him to be investigated while not in custody. Immediately after the crime, A fled Daegu to Sejong City. Subsequently, the police mobilized a large number of personnel to track him in the Sejong and Cheongju areas of North Chungcheong Province.

The police plan to transport the suspect back to Daegu and conduct an investigation before applying for an arrest warrant on charges of murder.
