The Ministry of Education announced on the 13th that it received a total of 74 examination copies from 12 applicants for the evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) digital textbooks from the 2nd to the 12th.

The examination copies received this time target 5th and 6th graders in elementary school, 2nd graders in middle school, and 2nd graders in high school. This is an expansion from this year's 3rd and 4th graders in elementary school, 1st graders in middle school, and 1st graders in high school.

The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, the examination agency for AI textbooks, along with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, plans to announce the final results by the end of August after conducting preliminary investigations, main evaluations, and reviews of revised copies.

The Ministry of Education will also re-evaluate 47 copies from 13 applicants who failed the previous year. This is to provide a re-evaluation opportunity for textbooks that were eliminated last year, in accordance with the basic evaluation plan.
