A 60-year-old election worker, a person surnamed Park, has been arrested and indicted on suspicion of proxy voting on the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election using her husband's name. According to the prosecution, Park voted for Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party presidential candidate, under her own name.

On the 13th, the Public Investigations Unit 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, led by Director General Cho Min-woo, indicted Park on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act. Park is known to be a contract employee at a health center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. She was appointed as an election worker before the last presidential election and was responsible for issuing ballots to voters.

Park is suspected of issuing a ballot by using her husband's identification card at the early voting location in Daechi 2-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 29th of last month. It has been revealed that she voted with her own identification card about five hours later. A prosecutor noted, "After voting in her spouse's name, Park voted again in her own name."
