The police demanded former President Yoon Suk-yeol appear for an investigative inquiry on the 19th for failing to respond to the second summons.

The Korean National Police Agency's National Investigation Division Special Emergency Investigation Team stated, "We determined that an in-person investigation of former President Yoon, who did not comply with the second summons, is necessary, and we have sent a third summons request." Former President Yoon faces allegations of obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant and instructing the deletion of text records.

Yoon's attorney, Yoon Gap-geun, submitted a letter the previous day stating that they would not comply with the police's summons request. The claim is that the attempt to execute the arrest warrant by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials in January itself was an unlawful and invalid execution of duty, and thus the response to the warrant execution cannot constitute a charge. Additionally, since the related allegations have not been clarified, they argued that the summons request lacks justifiable grounds, suggesting that further investigation is needed before reconsideration.

The police reportedly plan to consider applying for an arrest warrant if Yoon’s side does not comply with the third summons request on the 19th. Investigative agencies typically pursue the securing of a suspect through an arrest warrant if the suspect does not respond to three summons notifications.
