The court has issued a provisional seizure decision on the apartments in Seocho District and Gangnam District, owned by Kim Se-eui (48), the representative of the Garosero Research Institute. Gold Medalist, the agency of actor Kim Soo-hyun, who filed a 12 billion won damage compensation lawsuit against Gaseyeon and the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, is the creditor.
According to the legal community on the 11th, the Seoul Central District Court recently accepted a provisional seizure application for a total of 4 billion won for the ‘Seocho Byucksan Blooming’ apartment and the ‘Hanyang 4th’ apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District, under Kim’s name. It was found that the Hanyang 4th apartment is co-owned with Kim’s older sister, and a provisional seizure was set only on Kim’s ownership equity.
The market value of the two apartments is estimated to be around 10 billion won. A 208.65㎡ unit at Hanyang 4th was sold for 8.87 billion won last month. In the case of Seocho Byucksan Blooming, the most recent sale price in 2023 is approximately 1.6 billion won.
The legal battle between Gaseyeon and Kim Soo-hyun began last March when Gaseyeon claimed that Kim Soo-hyun had dated Kim Sae-ron, who was 15 at the time in 2015, for six years, citing comments from the family of Kim Sae-ron. Kim Soo-hyun’s side reported Kim Se-eui, who delivered photos of Kim Soo-hyun’s private life to Gaseyeon and posted those photos on a YouTube broadcast, for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of recordings using a camera, etc.). They also filed charges against Kim Se-eui for defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act and violations of the Stalking Punishment Act, while the family of Kim Sae-ron pressed additional charges of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act. Furthermore, they filed a damage compensation lawsuit for 12 billion won.
The family of Kim Sae-ron filed a counterclaim against Kim Soo-hyun for violations of the Child Welfare Act and false accusation.
