On the 11th, a fire occurred near Daebang Station in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, causing delays to some train services.
According to the firefighting authorities and Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), the fire started in a palm mat laid along the Gyeongbu Line between Noryangjin and Daebang Station and was extinguished around 4:41 p.m., 12 minutes later. Subsequently, another fire broke out at a nearby location around 5:03 p.m. and was extinguished in 10 minutes.
There were no casualties; however, train services were temporarily suspended due to safety measures related to the smoke, causing disruptions to the evening commute.
KORAIL reported that the operation of four KTX trains and five regular trains, including Mugunghwa, was delayed by 10 to 30 minutes. The firefighting authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
