Recently, it was reported that the prosecution secured text messages exchanged between Jeon Seong-bae, known as 'Geonjin Beopsa', and Kim Keon-hee, and that they summoned Jeon several times to focus on investigating allegations of favoritism surrounding Kim Keon-hee.

According to the legal community on the 10th, the Southern District Prosecutors' Office of Seoul's joint investigation team on virtual asset crimes, led by Director General Park Geon-wook, summoned Jeon for questioning for two consecutive weeks since the 3rd after the presidential election. The prosecution reportedly secured and presented text messages sent by Jeon to Kim Keon-hee's mobile phone number three times since March 2022.

The texts sent by Jeon included expressions such as, 'I was told by the core members of Yoon's camp (Yoon Seok-youl's key associates) not to use my people,' 'I have sacrificed so much that I would contact the core members of Yoon's camp,' and 'I felt the fear of power when I saw myself being made a scapegoat.' In response, there was reportedly a reply from Kim Keon-hee's number stating, 'I will contact you soon.'

The prosecution regarded the contents of these messages as evidence of Jeon's complaints after his request for favoritism was not accepted, and it was reported that they interrogated him about the circumstances of the request. Jeon claimed, 'I did not contact Kim Keon-hee directly, but communicated with her side,' although it is known that he did not specifically reveal whom he had contacted.
