Acting Prime Minister Lee Ju-ho, who is also the Minister of Education, submitted a letter of absence for the urgent inquiry by the Education Committee of the National Assembly regarding 'Rebox School' scheduled for the 11th.

According to the Education Committee and others on the 10th, the acting prime minister recently submitted a letter of absence for the full meeting of the Education Committee, which will take place at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, starting at 2 p.m. on the 11th.

In the letter of absence, the acting prime minister noted, "Since all cabinet members expressed their resignation to the President following the launch of the new government on June 4th, I have minimized my involvement in the Ministry of Education's affairs."

He added, "I ask for your understanding that it is difficult for a temporary cabinet member, who is not involved in policy formulation and execution, to attend the committee and respond."

Earlier, the Democratic Party of Korea was scheduled to conduct an inquiry regarding allegations related to the conservative-leaning group Rebox School, including comments manipulation, against the acting prime minister. Rebox School is an abbreviation for 'Lee Seung-man and Park Chung-hee School.' The Democratic Party indicated it would hold the Ministry of Education and the acting prime minister accountable, stating evidence emerged that Rebox School operated a comment manipulation team during the 21st presidential election phase, recruiting team members by offering qualifications for after-school instructors (Nulbom School).
