The Ministry of Interior and Safety announced on the 8th that it will hold a call for participation from private companies for the '2025 mobile identification card private opening' from the 9th to July 4.
This call for participation aims to allow citizens to obtain and use mobile identification cards on various private platforms. The ministry noted that as public anxiety has increased due to recent hacking incidents and personal information leaks, it plans to select participating corporations for the mobile identification card private opening with a priority on security and reliability.
The ministry is expected to select around five participating corporations through this call for participation. It explained that as public anxiety has increased due to recent hacking incidents and personal information leaks, it prioritizes security and reliability.
Accordingly, the evaluation for selecting participating corporations will be conducted through a selection committee composed of experts in the fields of security and certification. These corporations will be comprehensively evaluated based on ▲ security level ▲ personal information protection measures ▲ reliability ▲ disaster response systems ▲ activation plans before being selected.
The mobile identification card is stored in an encrypted form within the user's device security area. The central server does not separately store it, ensuring that even if the data center is hacked, the identification card information is safely protected without leaking, the ministry stated.
