An MBN video reporter issued an official apology related to the incident where he pushed Kim Hye-kyung, the spouse of President Lee Jae-myung, during filming.
MBN stated in a notice on the 5th, "There was a mistake when a video reporting department reporter pushed Mrs. Kim during the live broadcast of the scene where the president-elect Lee Jae-myung and his wife greeted citizens around 11:40 p.m. on the 3rd," and added, "We apologize."
Additionally, MBN's video production department said, "We will enhance safety training during close-up shots of key figures and take this opportunity to revise the video reporting guidelines."
The presidential office said, "We understand that the situation was urgent, but we ask you to be particularly careful in the reporting process," MBN reported.
On the night of the 3rd, President Lee and his wife stepped outside their residence in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, to greet citizens as their election was nearly confirmed. A reporter holding a camera for live coverage captured the moment when he approached President Lee and accidentally pushed Mrs. Kim.
