The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, the organization responsible for administering the College Scholastic Ability Test, announced that the mock exam for the 2026 academic year, held on 4th, featured questions that were evenly distributed to ensure discrimination based solely on the content covered in public education.
The institute noted in the 'June mock exam guidelines' distributed after the start of the first period Korean language section that 'questions favored students who had been trained in test-taking skills through private education and repetitive practice were excluded.'
Additionally, the institute stated that 'it aimed to create questions that align with the content and level of high school curricula to measure the skills learned through school education' and that 'by focusing on core and fundamental content, it sought to contribute to the normalization of high school education.'
It is said that the questions ensured discrimination while eliminating ultra-difficult questions.
The correlation rate between this mock exam and EBS study materials is about 50% based on the number of questions by area and subject. The correlation rate for the English section was the highest at 55.6%. The Korean section was 51.1%. The remaining sections were at 50%.
The linkage method was carried out indirectly, utilizing or modifying concepts, principles, passages, or data tailored to the characteristics of each area and subject.
The institute announced that it aimed to increase the perceived linkage by using materials such as tables, illustrations, and passages included in EBS textbooks.
The mock exam was conducted simultaneously at 2,119 high schools and 511 designated private institutes across the nation starting from 8:40 a.m.
There were a total of 503,572 applicants, including 413,685 current students and 80,988 repeat students.
