The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 4th that a moment of silence siren will sound for one minute starting at 10 a.m. on the 6th.
The moment of silence siren is expected to ring in conjunction with the 70th Memorial Day ceremony.
The moment of silence siren is intended to commemorate the noble patriotism of the deceased patriots and the spirits of the fallen for the defense of the nation. It will sound simultaneously across the country to allow all citizens to participate in the moment of silence.
Jang Han, a senior official at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, noted, "This siren is not a civil defense alert due to an enemy attack. Please do not be alarmed; when the siren sounds, you should observe a moment of silence with a respectful heart."
