On 2nd, Daeryuk Law Firm (lead attorney Lee Gyu-cheol) announced on 4th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kangwon National University Global Talent Network Center.

Attorney Kim Woo-hyun, director of the Daeryuk Law Firm Immigration and Nationality Center, attended the MOU signing. From Kangwon National University, Professor Kim Kyung-tae, director of the Global Talent Network Center, along with faculty members, staff, and over 20 international students were present.

This MOU was initiated to enhance the protection of rights and legal support for foreign students enrolled at Kangwon National University. The two institutions plan to jointly provide comprehensive services to address issues related to foreign students' immigration, residence status, nationality acquisition, as well as various legal problems and daily hardships they may encounter.

Currently, there are a total of 1,902 foreign students from 57 countries studying at Kangwon National University, including those in bachelor's and master's doctoral programs, exchange students, training programs, and work-study programs. The largest group is from China, and students from various countries such as Uzbekistan, Nepal, Vietnam, Mongolia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, Myanmar, and Russia are residing in Korea to study.

The Daeryuk Law Firm Immigration and Nationality Center was established in September last year. It aims to provide specialized and systematic services to legal demanders related to immigration, residence, nationality, and related legal matters. Attorney Kim Woo-hyun, a former director of the Ministry of Justice Immigration and Foreign Policy Headquarters, serves as the center's director. Additionally, three specialized attorneys in administrative, criminal, and international affairs, as well as counselors with backgrounds as officials from the Immigration and Foreign Policy Headquarters, are actively engaged.

In February, the Daeryuk Immigration and Nationality Center also signed an MOU with the Jeonnam Immigration and Foreign Comprehensive Support Center at Mokpo National University.
