Law firm BKL(Bae, Kim & Lee) announced on the 2nd that it has recruited former Ministry of Health and Welfare Health Industry Promotion Division Chief Oh Chang-hyeon as an advisor.

Advisor Oh is a healthcare expert with 30 years of experience, having worked in the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the Korea Disease Control Agency. He graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in hygiene and pharmaceutical science and obtained a master's degree from Kangwon National University in pharmacy before starting his public service career in 1994 at the Ministry of Health and Welfare (formerly the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs).

He has worked in various departments at the Ministry, including the Drug Management Division and Drug Safety Division of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (formerly the Food and Drug Administration), the Drug Policy Division and Health Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the office of the Vice Minister, and the Insurance Drug Division. After serving as the Director of Resource Management and the Director of Quarantine at Incheon Airport in the Korea Disease Control Agency, he returned to the Ministry to take on roles as the Director of Medical Institution Policy and the Director of Insurance Drug Division, and finally the Chief of Health Industry Promotion Division.

Advisor Oh will be affiliated with the BKL Healthcare Group. Based on his experience overseeing policies for the promotion and support of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and the health industry, he is expected to provide consulting across all areas of healthcare related to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food, cosmetics, and medical institutions.

The BKL Healthcare Group also includes former Vice Minister Lee Young-chan of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, former Vice President Song Young-joo of Johnson & Johnson Korea, who was responsible for external relations and policy, former Vice Administrator Choi Seong-rak of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and former Director Jung Yoon-kyun of the National Health Insurance Corporation’s Jongno Branch, among its advisors.
