Currently, the entire country is cloudy with rain, but it will gradually clear up starting from the afternoon of the 3rd, which is the voting day for the 21st presidential election. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 2nd, the rain falling mainly in the southern regions such as Busan, Ulsan, Gwangju, Yeosu, and Jeju will continue until the morning of the 3rd, which is a temporary holiday for the presidential election day.
Rain is expected in southern Gangwon, southern Chungcheongnam, Chungcheongbuk, and Jeolla regions until early morning on the 3rd, and until the morning in the Gyeongsang region and Jeju Island. Most areas are expected to clear up in the afternoon. However, rain may continue until tomorrow afternoon in eastern Gyeonggi and mid-northern Gangwon. Residents in these areas should take an umbrella when going to the polling station.
From the 4th to the 5th, the day after the election, the weather will generally be clear nationwide. On June 6th, which is Memorial Day, it will be under the influence of a high-pressure system, leading to cloudy weather. It is expected to be quite cloudy over the weekend of the 7th and 8th. Jeju Island is expected to have cloudy weather on Sunday the 8th.
Temperatures are expected to be similar to average levels. Morning temperatures are forecasted to be between 15 and 20 degrees, while daytime temperatures are expected to range from 23 to 31 degrees.
Starting next week on the 9th, there is a possibility of rain returning. An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration noted, "Depending on the pressure systems surrounding our country, there may be changes in the areas and timing of precipitation, so please refer to the latest forecast."
