On the 2nd, a day before the main voting for the 21st presidential election, Mayor Oh Se-hoon of Seoul inspected subway stations and polling places.
That afternoon, Mayor Oh visited Chungmuro Station on subway lines 3 and 4 and Polling Place 1 in Pil-dong (Jung-gu, Pil-dong 2-ga).
Mayor Oh first checked the fire safety facilities, including the floor guidance lines, sprinklers, and fire extinguishers inside Chungmuro Station. He then reviewed the smart closed-circuit television (CCTV) that automatically displays on the control center monitor during emergencies like fires, as well as crowd management measures.
After completing the safety inspection at Chungmuro Station, he noted, “Please ensure that the response system is thoroughly checked so that citizens do not feel anxious in places where many people gather, such as public transportation, and create an environment where they can use it with peace of mind.”
He then visited Polling Place 1 in Pil-dong, established at the Pil-dong Community Center. There, Mayor Oh stated, “Please take all necessary measures to ensure that seniors and individuals with disabilities can exercise their precious right to vote tomorrow, even if they have mobility difficulties.”
