The Korean National Police Agency reported on the 2nd that it has caught 2,100 people on suspicion of committing 1,891 illegal activities ahead of the 21st presidential election, and among them, 8 have been arrested.

The police are currently investigating 1,993 individuals. 70 have been referred to prosecutors, while 37 have not been prosecuted.

1,619 individuals were detected for damaging banners and posters, and 1 was arrested among them. There have been 19 election-related crimes involving deepfakes, resulting in the detection of 30 individuals.

During the early voting period from the 29th to the 30th of last month, 58 individuals were caught causing violence and disturbances inside and outside polling places, and 2 were arrested. There were 135 reports of voting interference and disturbances.
