A newborn baby born to a foreign passenger on a Jeju Air flight that arrived at Incheon International Airport on the 1st has died, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

According to the Incheon International Airport Police Division and others, a report was received around 6:44 a.m. that "the baby born on the plane is not breathing." The newborn was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but was reported dead.

The aircraft reportedly departed from Clark, Philippines, and arrived at Incheon Airport around 6:21 a.m. The mother is identified as a woman in her 30s of Philippine nationality. Police plan to investigate the delivery process and the cause of death.
