A middle school student has been charged with injuring a teacher in his 50s by striking him with a blunt object during class, causing a rib fracture.
On the 31st, the Suwon Nambu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province stated that a middle school student, a teenager surnamed A, has been booked and is under investigation for special injury charges.
Surnamed A is accused of repeatedly striking a male teacher surnamed B in his 50s with a blunt object while participating in physical education class on the playground of a middle school in Suwon around 9:50 a.m. the previous day.
Surnamed B is reported to be receiving treatment at a nearby hospital due to injuries, including a fractured rib.
It is known that other students also witnessed surnamed A committing the act at that time.
Police have taken surnamed A for voluntary questioning and are currently trying to ascertain the motive for the offense.
A police official said, 'We are in a situation where additional confirmation is needed regarding the details, as we have yet to conduct a formal suspect investigation on surnamed A, and surnamed B is still receiving treatment.' He noted, 'We plan to summon surnamed A and others soon for further investigation.'
