On the 25th, Lee Gi-yong posted a video on social media (SNS) Instagram showing images of her past and present. It came with the words, “I was once a top model, and now I work at a restaurant. I’m not the owner, but an employee. It’s okay for life to change. Since I’m living like this, stay strong.”

The video included Lee Gi-yong in a dress standing on a photo wall receiving flashes during her past modeling days, as well as scenes of her currently organizing beer boxes and doing dishes at a restaurant.

In the video, Lee Gi-yong said, “After being on a glamorous stage, I now work in a restaurant, but anyone can change the direction of their life. What’s important is the courage to live authentically in any position. I feel that change is not the end but another beginning. Since I can do it, you know you can do even better, right?”

Born in 1985, Lee Gi-yong debuted in the entertainment industry after winning the grand prize at the 2002 SBS Supermodel Contest. She gained public recognition as a model for numerous commercials and appeared in films such as “The Phantom Sword” and “My Wife is a Gangster 3,” but effectively halted her activities in the entertainment industry after the 2011 drama “Operation.”
