The Busan city bus management and labor union reached an agreement on wages and collective bargaining on 28th. Accordingly, bus operations, which had been suspended, will resume starting with the first bus at 4:20 a.m.
The Busan Regional Bus Union and Busan Transportation Business Association noted that they agreed on the adjustment plan around 1 p.m. that day.
Earlier, the Busan city bus management and labor union held adjustment meetings regarding regular wages at the Busan Labor Commission starting at 4 p.m. the previous day, but declared the final negotiation deadlock at 2:20 a.m. that day.
As a result, the union halted operations of 2,517 city buses across 147 routes starting with the first bus as previously announced.
However, later that afternoon, the management and labor union agreed on the adjustment plan and decided to operate normally.
The Busan city bus management and labor union reached agreements regarding wages, which include ▲ a 46.25% increase in hourly wage (based on Level 4) ▲ paid holiday allowances aside from total aggregates wages for drivers ▲ the establishment of Level 10 in the aggregate wages for drivers ▲ a 5% increase in total monthly wages for contracted workers, among other agreements.
In terms of the collective agreement, they also agreed to ▲ retirement age of 64 starting next year ▲ improvements to the wage system after abolishing performance bonuses and summer vacation expenses, among other provisions.
