Law firm Jipyeong announced on the 28th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Thai law firm Kudun & Partners on the 27th. Kudun & Partners is a comprehensive law firm established in 2015 in Thailand. It provides legal advice in various fields such as corporate legal services, finance, and dispute resolution for corporations not only in Thailand but also throughout Asia.
Through this MOU, Jipyeong plans to provide more accurate and rapid legal services to Korean corporations that are active in Thailand or wish to enter or invest in the local market. A Jipyeong official noted, "Thailand is a promising market boasting the 20th largest domestic market in the world."
The signing ceremony of the MOU was attended by Jipyeong’s representative attorney, Kyu-ho Yang, senior foreign attorney Jin-hee Kim (head of the international group), partner attorney Jung-jeong Tae (head of the overseas branch team), partner attorney Se-hoon Ko, senior foreign attorney Seung-min Lee (head of the international transaction team), and senior foreign attorney Ki-il Ban (head of the Thailand team).
From Kudun & Partners’ side, the representatives included managing attorney Kudun Sukhumananda, partner attorney Mayuree Sapsutthiporn, partner attorney Chai Lertvittayachaikul, partner attorney Thitawan Thanasombatpaisarn, attorney Yanin Sirilak, and chief operating officer Ben Cheok.
After signing the MOU, both law firms held a 'Thailand Investment Seminar.' During the seminar, foreign attorney Ki-il Ban presented on the topic of 'Thailand’s investment attractiveness.' Next, attorney Yanin Sirilak hosted a panel discussion. In this discussion, Kritsana Saeheng, head of the Bangkok office of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), presented on 'Investment opportunities in Thailand and the support policies of the Investment Promotion Committee (BOI).' Following that, attorney Chai Lertvittayachaikul presented on 'The regulatory environment and key considerations for foreign investment.'
Meanwhile, Jipyeong operates the most overseas offices among domestic law firms, with 9 offices in 8 countries. Currently, it has offices in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Russia, and Hungary.
