According to the Southern Gyeonggi Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Division on the 27th, a teenage male, identified as A, visited the Southern Gyeonggi Police Agency that morning to submit a confession. The detailed circumstances, including the motive for the crime, have not yet been confirmed.

A is accused of posting a message on Ajou University's online community 'Everytime' at 10:51 a.m. the previous day that stated, "If you stab Lee Jae-myung today, I will pay you. Contact me ㄱㄱ (go go, an internet term suggesting encouragement)."

The police reported that they received a tip-off about the post the day before and initiated an investigation before filing charges. They then obtained and analyzed information from Everytime, which helped identify A before he turned himself in.

Earlier, the candidate was scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss youth policies and other issues with university students at 11 a.m. the previous day at Ajou University in Suwon. The post appeared on the university's online community about nine minutes before the event was set to begin.

The candidate carried out the meeting without any incidents. It ended around 12:15 p.m., approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes later, without any issues. It has been reported that there was no commotion until the candidate departed from the Ajou University campus around 12:40 p.m.
