On the 27th, police announced that they had imposed a travel ban on former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok. Both are facing charges of insurrection related to the 12·3 emergency state. The travel ban is said to have been enacted in mid-month.
The police emergency state investigation team summoned former Prime Minister Han and former Deputy Prime Minister Choi the previous day for questioning. Police analyzed closed-circuit television footage obtained from the Presidential Security Service that showed the interior of the meeting room where the Cabinet meeting was held on the day of the emergency and the corridor of the presidential office. As a result, they found that the statements of former Prime Minister Han and former Deputy Prime Minister Choi regarding the Cabinet meeting differed from the footage, and it was reported that this was addressed during the investigation.
Lee Sang-min, the former Minister of the Interior and Safety facing charges of insurrection, was banned from traveling in December last year. Police also summoned the former Minister the previous day for questioning.
