A total of 14 weather forecasters from Laos, Mongolia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines completed the ‘foreign weather forecaster course’ offered by the Korea Meteorological Administration. The Korea Meteorological Administration stated on the 23rd that the two-week invitation training took place at the Korea Meteorological Administration's Seoul headquarters, starting from the 12th.

The Korea Meteorological Administration explained, “Based on country-specific reports analyzing hazardous weather cases and response measures, we conducted work to discuss and directly derive actionable plans applicable to hazardous weather response in their own countries.”

As part of its international development cooperation project, the Korea Meteorological Administration has been operating international training courses for meteorological agency staff in developing countries in regions such as Asia and Africa since 1998. To date, a total of over 1,500 foreigners from 98 countries have undergone the training course. The Korea Meteorological Administration has been recognized for its international role in enhancing global meteorological capabilities and has been designated as a regional training center by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 2015.
