Actress Hwang Jung-eum has been subjected to a provisional seizure of her real estate by her ex-husband's company.

According to the monthly magazine Woman Sense on the 23rd, the real estate owned by Hwang Jung-eum was provisionally seized by former professional golfer Lee Young-don. The two are currently in the midst of divorce proceedings.

The steel processing and sales company Georam Core, operated by Lee, filed a lawsuit on March 27 at the Seoul Western District Court against Hwang Jung-eum for the return of a lending amount of 157 million won. On the 17th of last month, it also requested a provisional seizure of the real estate. The court accepted this on the 30th and provisionally seized two units of urban-style residential housing owned by Hwang Jung-eum in Songnae-dong, Seoul, meaning she cannot rent or sell them at her discretion.

Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Y1 Entertainment, noted, "This was conducted during the divorce proceedings," and added, "As the divorce itself is in the final stages, we expect it to be settled amicably soon."

Hwang Jung-eum married Lee Young-don, a professional golfer and businessman, in 2016, and gave birth to sons in 2017 and 2022. The two began divorce proceedings in 2020 but reunited; however, she filed for divorce in February last year, claiming her husband had cheated.

Recently, Hwang Jung-eum was indicted for embezzlement allegations amounting to 4.3 billion won. She is accused of having invested 700 million won received as an advance from the family-run company Hunminjeongeum Entertainment in cryptocurrency and being charged with embezzling over 4.3 billion won in company funds by December 2022.
