According to the fire authorities, around 7 p.m. on the 23rd, a vehicle crashed into pedestrians and drivers at the Gildong Bokjori Market in Gangdong District, Seoul, causing injuries to 11 people.
Most of the injured sustained minor injuries and have been transported to hospitals for treatment.
According to the police, the driver is a man in his early 60s, with no signs of alcohol or drug influence, and it has been determined that he is not suffering from dementia. It has been assessed that there were no passengers.
The vehicle came to a stop only after hitting vegetable shops and real estate offices in the market.
Immediately after the accident, several reports were received by the fire department notifying that "a passenger car that appeared to have suddenly accelerated hit 7 to 8 pedestrians."
The police plan to conduct alcohol and drug tests on the driver. A police official noted, "After the investigation starts, we will decide whether to book the driver."
