Song Min-ho (32), a member of the idol group 'Winner' who is suspected of having inadequately served as a social service agent, has been referred to the prosecution.

The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 23rd that they had referred Song to the prosecution on the 22nd on suspicion of violating the Military Service Act.

Song served as a social service agent at a facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from March 2023 until December of last year. During this period, he is suspected of repeatedly taking sick leave and vacation while failing to attend work properly.

The police launched an investigation after receiving a request for investigation from the Military Manpower Administration in December of last year, and established a case against Song for violating the Military Service Act on the day he was discharged from service. It is reported that Song generally acknowledged the allegations including desertion from duty during the police investigation.

Song Min-ho will not participate in Winner's concert scheduled for July. Winner has entered a period of activity hiatus since Song and Kang Seung-yoon began their military service, with Song serving as a social service agent and Kang as an active-duty soldier in 2023.

This concert will be Winner's first since April 2022, a gap of three years and three months. The agency, YG Entertainment, decided to hold the stage with only Kang Seung-yoon, Kim Jin-woo, and Lee Seung-yoon, excluding Song Min-ho, who is embroiled in controversy.
