The police have carried out a search warrant on a hospital visited by a woman suspected of extorting money by threatening national soccer player Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham Hotspur).
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 22nd that a search warrant was executed on two hospitals visited by a woman in her 20s, identified as Yang, who is facing extortion charges, on the 21st.
Yang is suspected of extorting 300 million won from Son by threatening to reveal her pregnancy by sending him ultrasound photos in June of last year.
The police previously received records of medical treatment and surgery, including the ultrasound photos, from the hospital. The recent search warrant is said to be a measure to secure the original documents related to Yang.
On the 7th, Son's side filed a complaint with the police against Yang and her boyfriend, a man in his 40s identified as Yong, on charges of extortion and attempted extortion. The police arrested the two on the 14th and executed a search warrant at their residence to secure materials related to the case, including phone records. The court issued arrest warrants for them on the 17th.
