On that day, Prosecutor General Shim, on his way to the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office, responded this way when the press asked about the positions of Chief Prosecutor Lee and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jo Sang-won of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office regarding their resignations.

The press also asked if there were plans to summon Kim Keon-hee before the presidential election, but Prosecutor General Shim did not reply.

Chief Prosecutor Lee Chang-su and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jo Sang-won submitted their resignations to the Ministry of Justice the previous day. The two led the investigation into the stock manipulation allegations involving Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, related to Deutsch Motors. The prosecution cleared Kim of any charges concerning this case in October of last year.

In response, the National Assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against the two in December of last year, stating that the prosecution had conducted a flawed investigation. Subsequently, the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed the impeachment on March 13. However, after their return on April 25, the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office decided to reinvestigate the Deutsch Motors case.
