According to his agency Big Hit Music, Billboard Magazine unveiled the cover of its May issue featuring J-Hope on the official website and social media on the 20th (local time).

Billboard Magazine noted, “J-Hope has been recognized for his overwhelming stage presence and eye-catching performances for a long time. This played a crucial role in BTS’s growth as a global star.”

Appearing on the cover of Billboard Magazine is one measure of global influence and public recognition. J-Hope is the second Korean male solo artist to do so, following Psy, who was featured after “Gangnam Style” in 2012. BTS previously appeared on the cover of special issues in 2018 and the August issue in 2021.

In an interview with Billboard Magazine, J-Hope said, “Like the inspiration I received from the artists I loved in my childhood, I hope my music becomes a source of positive energy for someone. I want to grow as an artist who spreads light and courage wherever I am.”

Reflecting on his successful solo stadium world tour, he noted, “As a member of BTS, I performed in numerous stadiums, but this time I had to manage it alone. The fact that I overcame that energy and burden holds great significance for me.”

Regarding the songs he released this year, “Sweet Dreams” and “Monalisa,” he said, “Both songs are part of an expanded musical world that is easy for the public to relate to. This is just the beginning. I will present more musical experiments.”

J-Hope will continue his world tour in Taipei, Taiwan, on the 24th and 25th.
