According to online communities and others on the 21st, SM Entertainment held the ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025’ concert in Los Angeles, California, on the 11th (local time).
The concert was held in LA for the first time in about 15 years, featuring Red Velvet, aespa, RIIZE, and others. Leeteuk, Yesung, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Ryeowook from Super Junior, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, also performed.
As the excitement on stage grew, Leeteuk shouted, “I love USA,” “I love TRUMP,” and “I love Elon Musk.”
A video capturing Leeteuk's surprise remarks went viral on various social media platforms, sparking controversy. Some fans in the United States questioned, “Is he aware that Trump incites discrimination and hate against minorities?” and expressed disappointment, while others defended him, stating, “He was merely mentioning typical symbols representing the United States.”
