This year, young people struggling to find employment at large corporations such as Kakao and Hyundai Motor are expected to gain work experience.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that they held the '2025 Future Tomorrow Work Experience Vision Sharing Session' on the 20th at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul.

The 'Future Tomorrow Work Experience Project', operated in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and private corporations, provides work experience opportunities for young people struggling to find employment amid a trend of hiring mainly experienced workers. In its first year, 2023, 28,000 youth participated, and last year, 50,000 youth took part. This year, the plan is to support 58,000 youth.

Looking at the work experience programs run by corporations, Samsung Electronics plans to support young people preparing for independence through 'Samsung Hope Bridge', providing step-by-step assistance from career exploration to job competency enhancement and internships. Samsung Electronics has been supporting this program since 2023. Youth who participated successfully found employment through recommendations for hiring at affiliated companies and continuous career counseling after gaining work experience.

In the case of the small and medium-sized enterprise, Komento, it provides work experience utilizing the metaverse through 'Dream Bus Company'. Young people busy managing grades and preparing for employment can participate anytime and anywhere. Komento also operates a program specialized for youth not in education, employment, or training (NEET).

This year, Kakao, which is newly participating, will operate 'Kakao Tech Campus' targeting young people in non-capital regions who have relatively fewer work experience opportunities. The goal of the program is for non-major participants to grow into junior developers in the information technology (IT) field through job training, team projects, and individual mentoring.

Hyundai Motor established the 'Industrial Safety Work Experience Cooperation Project'. It plans to provide work experience in the field of industrial safety through case-based learning, job coaching, and more.

Meanwhile, on this day, the Minister awarded the Employment Minister's Awards to five work experience operating institutions, including Jincheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Hotel and Tourism Education Foundation, Busan Design Promotion Agency, Ulsan Industry-Academic Convergence Institute, and C&C Revolution, which received excellent evaluations last year.
