After her divorce, actress Jung Ga-eun (real name Baek Ra-hee) has transitioned to a taxi driver, following in her father's footsteps.
On the 19th, Jung Ga-eun revealed the results of her taxi driver qualification exam through her YouTube channel. Upon leaving the exam site, Jung said, “Wow. It was so difficult. I passed with 75 points. Many questions were from topics I hadn’t studied. I wanted to score 90 points, but I’m really disappointed.”
Jung Ga-eun, who received her certification on the spot, immediately called her father and expressed her excitement, saying, “I’ve become a taxi driver, following in your footsteps.” Her father congratulated her, saying, “I knew you could do it,” proud of his daughter.
Earlier, Jung Ga-eun admitted that her father had a significant influence on her decision to become a taxi driver. She mentioned, “My father drove a personal taxi for over 30 years. He raised me with that taxi,” adding, “He had esophageal cancer surgery eight years ago, so his health isn’t great. I want to invite him as my first passenger.”
At the same time, she expressed her optimism, saying, “I’ve heard that if you work hard as a taxi driver, you can earn 10 million won a month. Nowadays, it's hard to earn 10 million won even in large corporations. If things go well, it could become a good job.”
Jung Ga-eun married entrepreneur and had children in 2016, but after their divorce in 2017, she has been raising her daughter alone. Her ex-husband is facing allegations of fraud for creating an account in Jung Ga-eun's name and embezzling more than 13.2 billion won in investment funds, then fleeing. It has been reported that Jung Ga-eun has been struggling financially, as she hasn’t received child support or living expenses from her ex-husband.
