Police apprehended the suspect in the Siheung stabbing case, Cha Cheol-nam (56).

The Gyeonggi Siheung Police Station announced on the 19th that they had emergency arrested Cha Cheol-nam on charges of murder and attempted murder and were transporting him.

Cha Cheol-nam is accused of killing two people at his home in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, that day and injuring the owner of a nearby convenience store and a building owner by stabbing them with a weapon.

The police had been publicly searching for Cha Cheol-nam and, while tracking him, apprehended him around 7:25 p.m. near Geobuk Island in Siheung.

Cha Cheol-nam is reported to have admitted to all his crimes. The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for him after investigating the details of the incident.
